| Experimental Study of the Effects of Kami-Geumsuyukgunjun on the Pulmonary Injury Caused by Exposure to Cigarette Smoke in Rats |

| ABSTRACT |
Objective :
This experiment was performed in order to study the clinical effects of Kami-Geumsuyukgunjun on the pulmonary injury caused by exposure to cigarette smoke in rats.
Methods :
After we divided rats exposed cigarette smoke into three different groups, we injected Kami-Geumsuyukgunjun to sample group and a physiological salt solution to control group afterward to compare the level of oxygen consumption, the lungs volume, the leukocyte counts, the hemoglobin level and the PaO2 level of each group.
Results:
In comparison with control group, The group of Kami-Geumsuyukgunjun administration revealed significant effects(P<0.005) of increase in the level of oxygen consumption, the PaO2 level and of decrease in the lungs volume, the leukocyte counts, and the hemoglobin level.
Conclusions:
We report on present experimental results having significant effects on the level of oxygen consumption, the lungs volume, the leukocyte, the hemoglobin level, and the PaO2, PaCO2 after administration of Kami-Geumsuyukgunjun in order to study the clinical effects of Kami-Geumsuyukgunjun on the pulmonary injury caused by exposure to cigarette smoke in rats. |
