ABSTRACT |
Eyeball movement disturbance refers to a muscle imbalance that results in improper alignment of the visual axis of the two eyes. III, IV, and VIcranial nerves control eyeball movement. Palsy of III, IV, and VIcranial nerves are caused by many different reasons, like that midbrain infarction, brain tumor, congestive intracranial aneurysm, diabetic neuritis, vascular disease, demyelinating disease and so on. Because the third cranial nerve manage the four muscles of the six extraocular ones, its treatment is the most difficult in paralytic strabismus due to the III, IV, and VIcranial nerve palsy. The sudden onset of double vision, cerebral ataxia, pupil sparing, ptosis, eye turns laterally and inferiorly are caused by oculomotor nerve palsy. We observed 3 cases of patients with III, IV, and VIcranial nerves palsy. All patients were treated by korean medicine and their symptoms were improved effectively. So we report this cases. |
