| Study on the Toxicity of TONGBIYEUM in rats |

| ABSTRACT |
Objective :
This study was conducted to Sprague-Dawley rats of both sexes to elucidate the potential subacute toxicity of tongbiyeum extract and reversibility of any effects.
Methods :
For 4 weeks, the tongbiyeum extract was administratsed to rats with the a dose of 3,800mg/ kg/day, 1,900 mg/ kg/day and 380 mg/ kg/day. Weight change, hematological change, change of blood chemistry, autopsy finding, and histological observation were researched.
Results:
Until administration of tongbiyeum extract, General symptoms, death and siginificant weights change of rats were not showed, and also it did not affect on the change of food or water consumption. Tongbiyeum extract did not affect on the urine analysis , and the blood analysis, blood chemistry analysis, except TG level decreasing within normal limit. In the autopsy finding and pathologichistological observation, the result did not showed the dose dependent toxicity.
Conclusion:
The toxicity of the tongbiyeum extract was not observed until 4 weeks administraion of the tongbiyeum extract. |
